Deer causes excitement in Passau: Animal probably once lived in a game reserve
The animal had damaged a car on its way.
After jumping into the Danube, however, the police * could no longer find the deer.
The officials suspect that the deer could be one of eleven animals that escaped from a game reserve near Passau at the end of August.
At that time the enclosure was damaged by a stronger wind, so that the animals could escape.
After the incident, the owners declared the antlers ownerless and gave up the enclosure, the spokesman said.
That now also means that a hunter can shoot the deer.
The escaped animals are generally released for hunting.
