France is ready to help Tajikistan in the face of the instability caused by the Afghan crisis, Emmanuel Macron said Wednesday, October 13, receiving his counterpart Emmomali Rakhmon.

We will take stock with the president on the help that France can bring to Tajikistan to stabilize the situation and the useful contribution that we can make to the whole region
" declared the French president alongside Rakhmon in the court of the 'Elysium.

No compromise with terrorist groups
"
Tajikistan shares a common border with Afghanistan, which fell into the hands of the Taliban in mid-August who established their Islamist regime there.
The new government in Kabul has waved the threat of unleashing a wave of migration in response to possible sanctions.
Tajikistan warned in early September that it would not be able to accommodate many Afghans fleeing the Taliban.
Rakhmon said for his part that the two heads of state would discuss "
regional issues, particularly the problems of neighboring Afghanistan
".

Faced with a crippling economy and looming serious humanitarian crisis, the Taliban are seeking international support, although their regime has yet to be recognized by any country.
Direct talks were initiated in Qatar between Taliban envoys and representatives of the European Union and the United States.
