While an unlimited number of people are again allowed to celebrate in clubs, bars and football stadiums, there are still restrictions on funerals.

That creates trouble.

Nuremberg - For some time now, an unlimited number of visitors have been allowed to dance next to each other in clubs and bars, share drinks and party - without a mask.

The football stadiums are almost completely filled with fans again.

But anyone who organizes a funeral will notice that strict corona restrictions still apply in the cemetery.

Woman from Nuremberg complains about Corona rules: "That is outrageous"

Only 50 family members and friends are currently allowed to gather at a burial at the grave. “That is outrageous,” complains a reader from Nuremberg * to

Nordbayern.de

. "In discos you can celebrate inside again, but you limit a mourning party?" The reader recently lost her husband and is annoyed about the discrepancy in the current corona restrictions. "My husband didn't deserve that."

The Nuremberg health officer Britta Walthelm explains the strict rules for funerals: “The cemeteries are a critical infrastructure for services of general interest.

We have to make sure that it runs smoothly and therefore minimize the risk of infection for the staff. ”She also emphasizes that the number of 50 people is sufficient for most funeral services.

There would only be larger mourning communities in individual cases.

Only 50 people are officially admitted to funerals - exceptions are possible

In addition, there are not enough seats for 50 people in many mourning halls at Nuremberg cemeteries.

But the woman can breathe a sigh of relief: In individual cases, mourners can request an exception to the rule from the funeral service in advance.

More than 50 people are now allowed to take part in the urn burial for her husband in the southern cemetery.
