The Nuremberg health officer Britta Walthelm explains the strict rules for funerals: “The cemeteries are a critical infrastructure for services of general interest.
We have to make sure that it runs smoothly and therefore minimize the risk of infection for the staff. ”She also emphasizes that the number of 50 people is sufficient for most funeral services.
There would only be larger mourning communities in individual cases.

In addition, there are not enough seats for 50 people in many mourning halls at Nuremberg cemeteries.
But the woman can breathe a sigh of relief: In individual cases, mourners can request an exception to the rule from the funeral service in advance.
More than 50 people are now allowed to take part in the urn burial for her husband in the southern cemetery.
