The fruit and horticultural association Wartenberg has set up another bench.
It is dedicated to Walter Gebhart, who died a year ago and was a member of the Gartler board from 1970 to 2001.

- Chairman August Groh praised Bank Gebhart as a highly committed fellow who, among other things, would have made tremendous contributions to the avenue of linden trees and the natural gardening.
"He was the first green in Wartenberg," said Groh.
Senior officers Martina Scheyhing and Nina Hieronymus also took part in the event.
Mayor Christian Pröbst was able to work again as a locksmith to manufacture the frame.
Nina Hieronymus was also involved in the creation of the bench.
One of the driving forces behind the rest benches project for Wartenberg is Martina Scheyhing, who took the opportunity to explain the whole point of it all again.
Further benches are already being planned, she informed the audience at the small event in front of the community center.
Groh from the fruit and horticultural association informed our newspaper about the other planned locations.
Among other things, he named the war memorial, but where other benches are to be used.
Groh believes that in this special place, people may prefer to be alone.
The furniture should also take this into account, said Groh.
It remains to be seen how the benches will look specifically.
More benches are to be set up along the strogen in the next few months.
The search for donors and sponsors was gratifyingly successful, informed Groh.
For example, there is a “pensioner banker” on Nikolaiberg, which a wife of a police officer had organized to retire him.
Groh said that he was completely unsuspectingly surprised by the project.
There are many occasions for such benches.
For a few days there has been a bench at the end of Hermann-Gröber-Strasse, which was set up on the occasion of a silver wedding.
Other donors - former mayor Manfred Ranft is leading the way here - are welcome, according to Groh.
