The administration of the Saarland should become faster and more digital.
The Saarland state parliament unanimously passed a first reading on Wednesday that provides for the amendment of a total of 270 laws.
Instead of previously writing or personally, citizens should in future be able to do many things electronically.
"It is nothing less than a huge quantum leap in terms of reducing bureaucracy," said Prime Minister Tobias Hans (CDU) in parliament in Saarbrücken.
Saarbrücken - The government has mastered a "mammoth task" with this draft law.
The 288-page digitization law stipulates that in the future, simple electronic processes will also be permitted for 992 rules and regulations that previously required a written procedure.
"This will certainly save entire mountains of files in the future," said Hans.
For the opposition, Jochen Flackus (left) emphasized that the infrastructure above all had to be upgraded: “We have to work on it.” Dpa
