"We want to educate and make the offers better known, because often those affected do not even know that they can take advantage of rehab services," said Nonnemacher on Wednesday in Potsdam.
Potsdam - General practitioners should also pay more attention to this for their patients, she said.
For this purpose, the ministry has activated a website on which, in addition to information on long-term illnesses, the twelve inpatient clinics that offer post-Covid treatment are listed.
"Deutsche Rentenversicherung has signaled to us that it is very interested in seeing more people with long-term Covid applications submit applications for rehab," said the responsible head of department in the ministry, Joleen Gruhn.
Because the long-term Covid consequences could lead to restrictions in private and professional everyday life, said Gruhn.
Among those affected are numerous employees from health professions.
The chief physician of the Evangelical Center for Geriatric Medicine in Potsdam, Manuel Anhold, estimated that around a third of the 155 employees had a corona infection.
Three to four of these are affected by long-term consequences.
