Tenants report debates, abuse and threats.

District

- Metka and Uwe Möderl have been selling fuel in Maisach for almost four decades.

With their gas station, they are an integral part of the community.

But a lot has changed with the corona pandemic.

First sales collapsed dramatically.

And now the couple has to deal with recalcitrant mask refusers.

Because some customers do not want to adhere to the mask requirement.

Metka Möderl has to point this out to people in her sales room ten to 15 times a day.

Some then put on the mouth and nose protection grumbling.

Others get angry.

“Many are aggressive.

These are discussions that cannot be imagined. "

Mask refusers at the gas station: Always remain diplomatic

Since the murder of the petrol station employee, there has always been an underlying fear in the petrol station shop.

Metka Möderl has become cautious and always tries to remain diplomatic.

She didn't make the rules.

Your employee is also trained to react in a de-escalating way.

“Stay defensive and stay calm” is the motto at the petrol station.

The murder in Rhineland-Palatinate also left its mark on Michael Mahl.

He runs a workshop with a gas station in Althegnenberg.

“Of course, that doesn't pass you by without a trace,” says Mahl.

As a result of the fact, he was even less prepared to get involved in discussions about the mask requirement.

The employee has also been instructed not to play the heroine under any circumstances.

Mask requirements must be checked - otherwise there is a risk of trouble with the authorities

This is also how the tenant of a 24-hour petrol station in the eastern district does it.

Because there, too, the employees have to deal with aggression and threats again and again.

“But we don't do it for fun,” says the tenant.

If he did not check compliance with the mask requirement, he could get into trouble with the authorities.

And that could be expensive.

In general, the gas station boss stated: “It's easier to discuss with the younger ones and convince them to put on a mask.” The older the customers, the more hopeless such a debate is.

But there are mask refusers in all age groups and all social classes.

Incident at the gas station in Germering

There was a small physical altercation recently at the Aral gas station in the east of Germering.

Apparently it was also about the mask requirement.

Leaseholder Frank Böhm reports of a push outside the sales area among customers.

Nobody was injured.

The police have taken care of the matter.

In general, there are hardly any problems with people who refuse to wear a mask at the 24-hour petrol station in Germering.

The police stations in the district also confirm that debates and disputes about the controversial edition are usually at least physically non-violent.

The speakers only report individual cases in which people refuse to wear masks in supermarkets or public transport.

From the police point of view, the gas stations are not a hotspot for people who trivialize the corona.

It is completely understandable that there is fear after such a terrible incident as in Idar-Oberstein.
