Climate-neutral administration by 2030
The administration of the municipality with more than 12,000 inhabitants has also set itself an extremely ambitious goal: By 2030, it wants to be climate-neutral with all of its businesses and properties, i.e. the bottom line is that they do not cause greenhouse gases or offset them by investing in renewable energies. “We can act as a role model,” says Philipp Zehnder, environmental officer for the market. But the path to the green zero is no walk in the park, because pretty much everything leaves an ecological footprint. The aim is to convert the vehicle fleet to more environmentally friendly models or to proceed in an energy-efficient manner in construction projects and renovations. And even in procurement and procurement, climate protection can be given greater consideration.
Another concern of the community is to address the population and to convince them to participate as well - be it in the form of a solar system on their own house, an electric car or an environmentally friendly heating system. The new “Climate Protection and Energy” working group, which started its work in March this year, is to play an important role. The committee includes members of the administration, the municipal works and the municipal council, as well as committed citizens and representatives of organizations such as the Bund Naturschutz or Murnau Mit einer. The circle now presented itself in the context of a press conference in the town hall. “The working group will work on all topics,” explains Zehnder. A wide variety of priorities are dealt with at the regular meetings,starting with power generation and heating transition to mobility. A catalog of measures is to come out at the end of 2022. Overcome inhibitions

In the opinion of the town hall chief, a tenant electricity model, in which the electricity produced in-house is also consumed on site, could make oneself independent of large corporations and world market prices.
