Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that contacts with the United States at various levels are necessary and represent a positive development for relations between the two countries.
Sputnik news agency quoted Peskov as saying today, “These contacts are in continuation of (the spirit of Geneva) and the agreements and understandings reached by the two heads of state there.. Of course, these are not the first contacts,” adding that “several rounds of meetings have already taken place on issues of strategic stability and control. armament.”
Peskov indicated that there are consultations on cyber security issues, indicating that everything is developing well, if compared to the period before Geneva, where there were no contacts at all, and this represents a positive development.
US Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland continues her visit to Moscow for the third day in a row. In addition to her meetings at the Russian Foreign Ministry, she is scheduled to hold talks with Deputy Head of the Kremlin Administration Dmitry Kozak and Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yury Ushakov.
