Damascus-SANA

Poet Amal Al-Manawer writes poetry of the two halves often and adheres to its foundations, adhering to the language and its integrity, and what the countryside of the island and the Euphrates gained from the images that were reflected in her poetry.

In an interview with SANA, Al-Manawer said: I adhere to the eloquent language because I was raised since childhood to read and the Arabic language, especially since my father was a committed poet, and all the books I read in his library were committed to originality.

Al-Manawer added: After I got acquainted with the poet Nizar Qabbani, when my father took me as a child to visit him and gave me some of his books, I loved his poetry and read it a lot.

Al-Manawer continued: A poet cannot be separated from his land if he is a true poet. I am from the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and I belong to the trees of the West, the Euphrates, and the love of the sun.

Al-Manawer pointed out the need for the poet to abide by his homeland and its issues and the social repercussions that the conscience bears, because honesty in writing the poetic text is the basis for the continuation of the poem and its access to the other and its continuity in the future.

Al-Manawer explained that the poet or poet - if education is valid in the home - cannot be affected by any breakdown in the culture of the homeland, no matter how great the loss of those around him is.

Al-Manawer believed that criticism is supposed to take its real role to be influential in the boldness of the cultural community that helped all the pretenders of poetry to reach the pulpits because of the lack of honesty in the critical confrontation, and this is reflected in the entire culture, not only on those who claim it.

And about her writing of spoken poetry, Al-Manawer said: This type of poetry is supposed to have more cautious foundations than the eloquent. Certain occasions, it is not permissible for our identity to be except from the poetry that unites us all, which is eloquent and measured.

It is noteworthy that the poet Amal Al-Manawer is a member of the Arab Writers Union - Poetry Society, and her books include “This is the Richness of the Euphrates” and “Do Not Care About Passersby.”
