Miesbach - The willingness to support local artists and organizers is there, but the how is still causing the city of Miesbach some headaches.

The culture and tourism committee has now referred a basic concept for advice to the city council.

It was from there that the order came to draw up such a paper. In June, the committee rejected a proposal from the SPD parliamentary group, which intended to promote culture, but in a second step commissioned the culture committee to work out a concept in a special meeting. At this special session there was now a proposal from the Department of Culture. Ultimately, it provides for the establishment of a culture fund. Associations or institutions planning an event with local artists or cultural workers in Miesbach can apply for funds from this. Despite solid planning, a deficit could threaten - which happens especially at open-air events. Corona-related regulations such as a viewer limitation also mean an imponderability. A concert is supposed to bea theatrical performance or the like does not fail in advance. The city could therefore provide support to “promote a diverse cultural scene”, as it is called.

Important questions unanswered: Where does the money come from and how much is distributed?

The city council has not yet received a finished concept when it discusses the topic.

"A few detailed questions are still open," said Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller (CSU).

Among other things, there is no answer to the most important questions: How much money should the fund distribute each year, and where should it actually come from?

In view of the strained budget situation, the city council will certainly not find it easy to simply provide funds for voluntary services, said Verena Schlier (CSU), for example.

Your group colleague Franz Mayer listed what he does not want.

For example, that equipment is paid for, profitable events are promoted or events are "unnecessarily inflated" by the prospect of city money.

Original came from Gmund

Isabella Krobisch, head of the cultural office in Gmund, asked for her submission.

There, 12,000 euros will be put into a culture fund this year and next year (we reported).

The maximum amount for a single distribution is 1000 euros.

Kämmerer warns: Do not shake the fee statute for Waitzinger Keller

At the city council meeting in June it was also about the possibility for musicians and artists to get an inexpensive stage - especially in the Waitzinger cellar. Aline Brunner (FWG) recalled this in the committee. Mayer and treasurer Josef Schäffler warned against opening up the fee statute for the cultural center. “That’s where we come to hell’s kitchen,” said Schäffler. The city must look closely at what it is promoting and how so as not to come into conflict with the law. In this context, Florian Hupfauer (FDP) wanted a list of the expenses that the city sack already had for culture. It is well known that the Free State Theater of Bavaria and the music school are funded. The mayor recalledthat with the Kellerbrettl and in the Kulturhaus Zur Goldenen Parkbank there are already favorable performance opportunities.

In addition to the financing of a culture fund - here Braunmiller could also introduce sponsors and patrons - there is still a lot of fine work to be done.
