A colorful and diverse old town - that's what the team of city councilors and citizens around Daniela Puzzovio is all about.

For the "Alleyway beautification" project, it is still looking for creative minds who can artistically take on window panes, columns and walls.

The first thing to do is go to Löwenhof-Gasse.

Schongau

- Build your own work of art in the middle of the city: A small group of Schongau city councilors and committed citizens who have committed themselves to revitalizing the old town are calling for this. As part of their “Alley Beautification” project, ideas for the design of the windows, columns and walls between Christophstraße and Marienplatz can be submitted until October 20th.

Deputy Mayor Daniela Puzzovio, member of the jury and initiator of the project, envisions a long-term beautification of the old town streets.

The walls and columns should therefore be designed in such a way that they permanently enliven the image of the passage: by painting or spraying the surface directly.

“Of course we hope that the works of art will not be damaged,” says Puzzovio.

"You should then stay as long as possible."

Paintings and graffiti should be permanent

Daniela Puzzovio's team - including Janaina and Teresa Subiabre Haseitl, Thomas Schleich, Patricia Erhard and Markus Keller - also came up with a concept for the redesign of the window panes: The panes should be covered with white foils, which then serve as a substrate for the oil - or acrylic paintings by the participating artists. The motifs should stay in the passage as long as “as they are beautiful,” said the Vice Mayor.

The residents of Löwenhof-Gasse also agree, two of whom even participate directly: Anne Heldwein ("Löwenhof") and Andreas Huber ("Huber Moden" and "Tom Tailor").

As members of the jury, Heldwein and Huber will decide which works of art will adorn the alley in front of your door in the future.

The other residents had also not appealed.

“We have informed the chairman of the community of owners.

There were no objections. "

Everyone who is interested in creating is in demand

Both professional and amateur artists, such as schoolchildren, should take part in the project.

“The main thing is that everything fits together well in the end,” says Puzzovio.

To her delight, there have already been several submissions and all kinds of positive feedback on the project.

Sketches can be submitted in A3 format to “Huber Moden” or “Tom Tailor” by October 20th.

Thematically, the creative minds are given free rein, but as a suggestion the team named "Alley Beautification" but a few examples: Nature and the environment, selfie spots, people, faces, diversity or references to a medieval city can be artistically implemented.

Depending on the size of the image, the participants can even be paid between 100 and 500 euros.

In addition to artists, the team is also looking for sponsors who can support the "Alley Beautification" project in the form of a donation.

The deadline for submission is October 20th

If the deputy mayor has her way, the painting should start this year - if autumn allows it.

"If the weather is bad, we will of course postpone it until next spring," says Puzzovio.

The fact that the project should be tackled so quickly is also the reason for the tight time frame until the deadline: “Sometimes a little pressure is very good.” And the beautification of the passage between Marienplatz and Christophstraße is just the beginning.

“Our goal is to design the other alleys little by little,” said Vice Mayor Puzzovio.
