Seven writers co-author a novel they are the heroes of

Seven Syrian writers from different experiences and walks co-authored one novel entitled “The Blue Train,” in which they talked about the difficulties and challenges faced by the Syrian intellectual as a result of the terrorist war on Syria, in addition to their hopes for the future.

The novel written by the expatriate Moqbel Al-Maila, the journalist Imad Nadaf, and the novelists Suhail Al-Deeb, Muhammad Ahmad Al-Taher, Muhammad Al-Hafri, Faten Derki and Jamal Saeed Al-Zoubi, whose book was themselves its heroes.

During the novel’s signing ceremony, which was hosted by the Al-Assad National Library, Al-Maila spoke in a speech on behalf of the seven writers about the great difficulties her writers faced, their fear of writing chaos, and some’s comments about the failure of the project and their overcoming of these differences and disagreements, “so that the newborn comes out in its full splendor.”

Al-Maila pointed out that the novel and its writers resemble the multi-colored Syrian people who, despite everything, are united by the Syrian identity and will reach safety.

The novelist Al-Taher explained that the novel talks about the suffering of the Arab intellectual and the Syrian person in general during the years of the war, which appear in its final features, and truth will triumph and falsehood will perish.

The novelist Naddaf, who came up with the idea, told SANA, “I wanted to tell all Arabs to learn from the Syrian lesson, which paid dearly, but it has arrived and will reach safety, and this is the challenge that the Syrian people have achieved.”

Derki pointed out that all literary arts can carry one thought, and this novel has a kind of adventure in which there was a determination to succeed, with the seven writers striving to unify the style, but it is clear that each one has his own way and style.

Jamal Al-Zoubi indicated that he had previous experiences in the story and was preparing for a novel project. The plan was ready and he started this project in parallel with writing the story.
