A carnival procession in October?
One could have believed that on the weekend in Unfaltstrasse in Bruck.
Fanfare sounds, carnival floats - everything was there.
But the foolish Gaudi had a serious background.
A film was made for “Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved”.
Fürstenfeldbruck - the
sounds of fanfare reverberate through the area. The Graf Toerring Gernlinden fanfare procession marches through the street again and again. Cameras accompany the musicians every step of the way. Shut up, and the next shot.
Filming in the district town is nothing special anymore.
But they have never been so complex, says Ina-Maria Reize-Wildmann, editor-in-chief of the ZDF television program “Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved”.
Because this time a rampage was shot.
In Northern Hesse, a car raced into the crowd at a Gaudiwurm.
Several people were injured.
A 16-year-old showed great moral courage.
"She tried to stop the driver and also took care of the injured people," reports Reize-Wildmann.
The young woman has been nominated for the XY Prize 2021 for her heroic deed.
It is under the patronage of the Federal Minister of the Interior and honors people with moral courage who prevent crimes or help to solve them.
Nominees themselves on site
The girl herself was in Bruck to shoot the scenes, says Johann Krämer, chairman of the committee for the carnival procession in Olching.
He received an inquiry from ZDF as to whether they could provide a car.
“Our committee car is in the garage all year round,” says Krämer.
So he was pulled out a little before the foolish start, eight members slipped into costumes and drove to Bruck.
“It was exciting, we were able to talk to the director and the girl,” says Krämer.
The town in Hesse has almost 7,000 inhabitants.
“The carnival procession has 15,000 to 20,000 spectators like ours.” Before the scene was perfect, the car had to drive up and down the street several times.
“And we always shouted a referee instead of Olau,” says Krämer.
Because that's the carnival call there.
Officials take on roles
The twelve fanfare players also played the same soundtrack over and over again. How many times have they lost their count? “It used to be something completely different,” says chairman Korbinian Raith. “The biggest challenge, however, was to play without sound.” Especially for the drummers, because it still had to look real, even if the sound came later.
When the rampage was filmed, the police intervened - real patrol officers who take on extras in their free time.
It took from morning to late afternoon for the film to be in the can.
"We are extremely grateful that everyone from the region took part," says Ina-Maria Reize-Wildmann.
Because that's how a good film came about.
The contribution to the carnival procession is to be broadcast on the XY program on November 17th.
Then the audience will also find out whether the young heroine will get the award.
