Distinguished results achieved by the Homs team for athletics in the elite championship, which took place in Damascus to select the Syrian team in preparation for participating in the Arab Championship for juniors and girls.
The two gold medals came from Naya Nasser in the long and triple jump and Rima Hassan in the throwing of the iron ball, while the silver was won by Al-Ali in the discus and ball throw, Shahd Al-Abdullah in the 100-meter run, Asim Al-Talib in the 800/1500-meter race, and Zain Bilal in the 100-meter run.
Head of the Technical Committee for Athletics in Homs Bassem Hassan drew in his statement to the SANA Sports Bulletin the remarkable development and distinguished presence of the Homs players through the distinguished results, and this is the result of great efforts made despite the many difficulties facing the game, stressing the technical committee’s endeavor in cooperation with the branch of the Sports Federation in Homs to develop the reality of games powers in the province.
