- The municipality of Kirchheim is taking on a further 1.7 million euros for the new swimming pool, which is being built on the Aschheim school campus, in addition to its share from the school administration association.

The new building is expected to be completed in autumn 2025.

On the Aschheim school campus, the secondary school will be expanded by the beginning of the school year 2025/26, a grammar school and a triple sports hall, swimming pool, cafeteria, open all-day school and an administration building will be built.

According to current calculations, the total costs amount to 129 million euros, the swimming pool alone costs 14.8 million euros.

Two thirds of the costs of the swimming pool are covered by the Zweckverband, the remaining 4.92 million euros have to be divided up by the three participating municipalities of Aschheim, Feldkirchen and Kirchheim according to the number of students.

For Kirchheim that would be an amount of 1.74 million euros due to the three primary schools.

Swimming lessons possible for elementary and middle school students

"The Zweckverband only pays the costs for the students from the secondary schools, the municipalities have to pay for the children from the elementary and middle schools," said Kirchheim's mayor Maximilian Böltl (CSU) in the local council. If all three municipalities participate, another swimming unit will be built especially for these students. “For us, this is a great opportunity for swimming lessons for our elementary and middle school students. Because the pool in Ismaning will no longer be used, this is also urgently needed, ”said Böltl in favor of the investment.

Wolfgang Heinz-Fischer (VFW) said that overall, due to the share in the special purpose association and as a material cost bearer for the elementary and middle school students, it was already a very large financial share.

The municipality council decided unanimously that the municipality will take its share according to the number of primary and middle school students.
