Two and a half weeks after the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the SPD, as the winner, has concluded its preliminary talks on forming a government.
State party leader and Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig scheduled an extended board meeting for Wednesday evening, in which the parliamentary group also takes part.
In Güstrow Schwesig wants to inform about the results of the explorations.
Schwerin - It is expected that she will then submit a proposal with whom specific coalition negotiations will begin.
Immediately after the September 26 election, which the SPD clearly won with 39.6 percent of the vote, a negotiating trio led by Schwesig sought talks with possible government partners.
There were several meetings with representatives of the previous coalition partner, the CDU, and with the left.
Stable government majorities would be possible with both parties, which sit in parliament with smaller parliamentary groups after losing votes.

The SPD, the winner of the election, will soon hold initial talks on the formation of a new government in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
She will submit offers to the CDU, the Left, the FDP and the Greens from Tuesday, said Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig on Monday evening in Güstrow after consultations in the governing bodies of the state party.
The aim is to form a stable coalition that will help the country move forward.

The SPD also spoke to the Greens and the FDP.
But a traffic light coalition, as is currently being sought by many in the federal government, is unlikely for the Northeast.
Nothing leaked out of the exploratory talks.
Schwesig had committed all of them to strict secrecy, which they also adhered to.
The state constitution sets a deadline for the formation of a government.
Schwesig has to name her new cabinet by the end of November at the latest, which will then be sworn in in the state parliament.
