Successful season despite Corona

The bathing season ends well for Gauting: Summer bathing supervisor Michael Ruhdorfer reports significantly higher income and thus a lower deficit than in the previous year.

- Corona naturally plays a role in the assessment of the financial situation of the

summer pool. Christian Ruhdorfer, the technical director responsible for the Gautinger summer pool, reported to the main and finance committee on Tuesday evening that there were “more opening days” than in the previous 2020 Corona season and the resulting increased income from admission fees of 164,000 euros. Compared to the previous year, the deficit fell from 333,000 to 209,000 euros. Starting next season, the new photovoltaic system on the changing room roof will provide the electricity for the heated outdoor pool. "Since Ruhdorfer took over responsibility for the summer pool, the operation has been going well," said Mayor Dr. Brigitte Kössinger, there was applause for Ruhdorfer.

44 965 Badegäste zählte Ruhdorfer heuer, vergangenes Jahr waren es 16 653. Die Saison startete bereits am 22. Mai – 2020 sperrte er das Bad erst Mitte Juli auf. Die Öffnungstage erhöhten sich dadurch auf 116 – fast wie vor Corona. Die Kasse war pandemiebedingt durchgängig mit Personal besetzt. Auch der Service des eingesetzten Security-Dienstes aus Neuried habe gut geklappt, sagte er. Einschränkungen gab es wegen Corona: Die Warmumkleiden blieben geschlossen, und im Heißsprudelbecken waren maximal 22 Personen zulässig. Deshalb war das kleine Bassin vornehmlich den Kindern der Schwimmkurse vorbehalten – mit Erfolg. Denn 730 Mädchen und Buben haben in diesem Sommer im Gautinger Freibad das Schwimmen gelernt. Renner bei den Kleinkindern war der für fast 80 000 Euro gebaute, mit Blumen bepflanzte neue Wasserspielplatz.

The expenditure fell slightly from almost 390,000 euros to 373,000 euros. The swimming pool deficit therefore fell compared to the previous year from 333,000 euros to currently 209,000 euros, calculated Ruhdorfer. He expects further improvement when the PV system supplies all the electricity for the bathroom. After the outdoor pool was closed, the Gautingen fire brigade was instructed in chlorine gas exercises by the Ackermann pool technology company at the beginning of October, reported Ruhdorfer.

“I find it particularly gratifying that we have swimming schools, where children learn a vital basic skill in warm water,” praised the mayor.

That is why the whirlpool is a priority for the little ones.

She also thinks the offers are “great”, agreed triple mum Claudia Nothaft (Greens).

“But why is the hot tub closed after 1pm?” Because there are no volunteers to check the occupancy of the whirlpool in the afternoon, answered Ruhdorfer.

"Let's hope for a good season in 2022 - without Corona," said the mayor.
