The municipality of Putzbrunn has received two inquiries for photovoltaic systems.

It is now clear where these could arise and where not.

Putzbrunn

- The Putzbrunn building committee received two inquiries for photovoltaic systems in February.

At that time, the municipal council decided that a concept should first be drawn up for the entire municipality.

Suitable areas and taboo zones have now been presented.

The planning association for the outer economic area of Munich first examined the energy demand and consumption.

According to this, the annual consumption of the municipality is around 30 million kilowatt hours (kWh), and a good 2 million kWh are currently covered by renewable energy sources.

The mission statement sets the goal of covering half of the energy from renewable sources by 2030.

For this, PV systems with an output of 13 million kWh would have to be built.

According to the planning association, an average open-space system at a favorable location has an output of around 3.3 million kWh and requires an area of six hectares.

In order to achieve the desired goal by 2030, PV systems would therefore have to be installed on 24 hectares.

There are taboos here

Only where could plants be built and where not? According to the planning association, the taboo zones include forest, settlement areas and compensation areas. In Putzbrunn this means excluding all existing and planned residential areas as well as the areas along the forests in the north and south-west at a distance of 50 meters. There is also a taboo on the compensation areas and biotopes west of the St 2079 and at the Philipp-Kreis-Bogen. In addition, there are “soft taboo zones” such as regional green spaces, drinking water protection areas or areas “of particular importance for recreation”.

This leaves not many suitable locations. In Putzbrunn that would be two areas north of Münchner Straße, right and left of St 2079, the area between Niedweg and Bürgermeister-Jakob-Straße and two areas on both sides of the B 471. At the request of CSU councilor Alfons Meßner, however, the properties south of the Outer Ottobrunner Strasse and the Bürgermeister-Jakob-Strasse up to Niedweg as well as the areas at the roundabout on Münchner Strasse have been discarded. "These are areas that are simply too close to the place, and it is also the Putzbrunners' walking area in the direction of the cemetery, I don't want a PV system there," explained Messner. The majority of the committee was in favor of the area east of the bypass and west of the motorway.

The town hall is now finalizing the concept in order to submit it to the municipal council for a vote.

Only then do you want to decide on the queries at hand.
