Occupied Jerusalem-SANA

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to intervene urgently to stop the colonial plans of the Israeli occupation that perpetuate settlements and the apartheid regime by seizing Palestinian lands south of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

In a statement carried by Wafa Agency, the Foreign Ministry stated that the occupation authorities aim, from their settlement plan, to complete the separation of Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings, in addition to changing its cultural features and demographic reality by suffocating it with huge settlement outposts from all four sides and an apartheid wall that will eventually cause the fragmentation of the Palestinian demographic and societal structure in Jerusalem, including It leads to forced evictions and displacement of entire Palestinian areas and neighborhoods outside the Holy City.

In turn, the Jerusalem Governorate considered the settlement occupation scheme to separate the city of Jerusalem from Bethlehem as a crime and brutal aggression and a continuation of the expansionist annexation plans, stressing that the goal of this scheme is to besiege the holy city and separate it from its Palestinian extension and put pressure on the Palestinians to empty them of their land and homes for the benefit of the Israeli settlers.

Today, the Israeli occupation authorities announced a new settlement plan to seize swathes of Palestinian lands south of occupied Jerusalem.
