Songwriter Edith Punk has passed away.

Among other things, she appeared on the small screen in the early 1970s when she starred in the film "Hasamba and the No Man's Land" as the medic Shulamit.

Punk was born in 1952 and grew up in Tel Aviv.

She studied art at Beit Berl and combined the world of screen, art and poetry.

She presented a regular art corner with children in the “Catching a Head” program alongside Nathan Datner, lectured in the field of physical psychotherapy at Ridman College and exhibited her paintings in numerous group exhibitions alongside solo exhibitions.

She was also a journalist and writer.

In addition, she illustrated dozens of books and created sets for shows, but mostly became famous as a successful songwriter who wrote songs that many artists chose to compose and perform, including Hanan Yuval, Arik Sinai, Shlomi Shabbat, Yoni Roa, Din Din Aviv, Rami Kleinstein and Idan Raichel.

Among her familiar hymns: "The Days That Are Still Right for Us" (composed and performed by: Hanan Yuval) and "Leave Me" (Rami Kleinstein).

For Gali Atari's album "One Step Before the River", which was released in 1988, Punk wrote the song "Magic".

Only a few months ago, the song "Kol Mila" was composed and recorded by Hanan Yuval, who was close to her for decades and told "Israel Today": "I am very sad. Her first song ever composed in her life was 'The days are still right for us.' "Our relationship began many years ago. We have been in a relationship all these years. She suffered from deafness many years ago. She was waiting for a kidney transplant and suffered from several diseases, and she went on vacation to the north, did not feel well.
