With Arab and international participation, the November Trail Cycling Race, which is held by the General Sports Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Lattakia Governorate, continues today on the axis of the new Latakia-Aleppo Highway.
At the end of the first stage, the Syrian team “A” won first place in the men’s team race against the clock for a distance of 55 km with a time of 1.11.14 hours, followed by the Iraq team with 1.18.08 hours, and then the Syrian “B” team with 1.18.13 hours.
In the female category, Syria “A” won the first place in a time-trial teams race for a distance of 42 km, with a time of 1.07.07 hours, followed by Syria “B” with a time of 1.09.18 hours, and the Russian Crimean team third with 1.15.52 hours.
Syria A represented Youssef Srouji, Osama Sabahi, Nabil Al-Fares and Jamil Shaaban, while the Syria A team in the female category represented Marian Al-Fares, Sahab Ghaibour, Miriam Khalouf and Marah Khedr.
In a statement to SANA, the cyclist, Nabil Fares, expressed his happiness that his team won the first place in the race, indicating that this achievement, which was achieved thanks to the coaches' interest, will be an incentive to win more championships in Arab, Asian and international competitions.
And the Iraqi cyclist, Mustafa Ibrahim Hosni, indicated that winning the second place is a good result, despite the participation of 10 teams in a race against the clock, pointing to the difficulty of the track that Iraqi cyclists were not accustomed to before, pointing out that the race was distinguished by the good organization and strength of the participating players, especially the Syrians and Russians.
