A few hours after it was first reported in "Israel Today" that the political system estimates that another Arab country will soon join the Avraham agreements, Qatari Foreign Minister Muhammad a-Thani outright ruled out the possibility of Doha joining the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.
In the second day of the World Security Forum in Doha, which is held in the presence of senior officials from various countries such as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayurkas, Greek Justice Minister Kostas Ciras, Chief Prosecutor of the International Court of Justice in The Hague (ICC) Karim Khan, and former CIA chief John Brennan - to say that "normalization agreements between Arab countries and Israel will not solve the problem of peace in the Middle East."
Foreign Minister Lapid: "Avraham Agreements Open to New Members" / State Department
He said, "We do not identify a plan close to the peace process, so we believe that the Avraham agreements cannot resolve the crisis."
A-Thani added regarding Israel that "we should not focus on economic normalization and forget about the occupation of the Arab lands."
As you may recall, this morning it was reported in "Israel Today" that in recent weeks the Biden administration has stepped up its efforts to renew the momentum of the Abrahamic agreements and bring closer to Israel countries that do not recognize it.
Among other things, the administration is in accelerated contacts with Sudan, which recognized Israel but did not complete the normalization process, did not send an official representative to Israel - and did not open a representative office in Israel.
Alongside Sudan, which was one of the four countries of the Abrahamic Accords, contacts are being made with another country.
