Geretsried / Wolfratshausen - The women at HSG Isar-Loisach love it dramatically.

On the first day of the regional league they had to tremble until the last second before it was 24:24 at TSV Murnau.

No less thrilling was the home game against BSC Oberhausen on Sunday, which was on the brink until the last second and ended with a 21:21 (8: 9) remis.

Until the end on the dump

"The game could have ended in any direction, but we didn't use the buzzer beater," sums up coach Markus Goblirsch. With the term often used in basketball, the HSG coach alluded to the missed victory throw at the last second. In the minute before, events had rolled over. Shortly before the end, Julia Reindl from Oberhausen ran a counterattack, but couldn't control the ball and ran into the HSG defense.

Goblirsch took a break.

The HSG women stormed on, pushed for the winning goal, Oberhausen was sovereign in the defense.

Five seconds before the end there was still a gap: three Oberhauser women pounced on the stumbling Greta Esch, who passed the ball to the completely free standing Veronika Rid as she fell.

She jumped up, took to the throw - but failed because of the Oberhaus goalkeeper, accompanied by the final siren.

Rid sank to his knees, disappointed, and let Loredana Miricioiu comfort him.

When she took Goblirsch in her arms, a smile returned to her face.

Positive impressions predominate

With a little distance, the positive impressions predominated. So at first you couldn't necessarily expect the HSG to get a point. One miss followed the next, after ten minutes the score was 2: 5. “The defense was there, but it didn't work at the front,” analyzes Goblirsch. But then the ball went well through all parts of the team, and finally the team carried away all the spectators in the hall.

The team “fought sensationally” when Nikola Gritzuhn received two penalty minutes in the 55th minute and fell behind with 19:21.

Greta Esch (57th) and Veronika Rid (58th) managed to equalize with their goals.

In addition to Rid, Loredana Miricioiu and Magdalena Münster also received special praise.

According to Goblirsch, the latter “cracked sensationally”.

Ultimately, there is nothing to complain about: "It was an intense game between two very good teams."

HSG:

Reichenauer, G. Esch 3, M. Klein, Rehmann, Friedrich 3 (3/3), Miricioiu 2, Pioker 1, L. Esch, Rid 6, Mikulla 2, Gritzuhn 1, Münster 1, Hörl.

But that failed because of the Oberhaus goalkeeper.
