Now the institute is evidently forced to speak plainly.
In a press release, the RKI denied any responsibility for the vaccination quota values that were obviously too low.
"To determine the COVID-19 vaccination rates, the RKI relies on the digital vaccination rate monitoring (DIM), a reporting system whose application and reliability are solely in the hands of the vaccinating bodies (vaccination centers, vaccination teams, hospitals, medical practices, company doctors).
These bodies alone transmit the number of vaccinations carried out to the RKI on a daily basis, ”said President Lothar Wieler, according to a statement on Wednesday.
