The last game before the one-year compulsory break won the men of coach Darryl Millwood against TSV Wolnzach with 69:66.
This result still had an effect twelve months later when the two teams met again in the Jahnhalle.

"Wolnzach was motivated to the top, they wanted to make amends," said Millwood after the 68:88 (27:46) defeat of his team. The guests had increased further compared to the previous season. Not least because of this, they had a clear advantage over the Weilheimers in terms of body size. “The opponent was a different caliber than Neumarkt last time,” said Millwood. whose assessment the Wolnzacher were much better positioned than the team from the Upper Palatinate, which had narrowly defeated his team. To survive against such a strong opponent like Wolnzach, who is one of the title contenders for the Weilheim coach, his team would have needed a creamy day.
However, that was only the case in the third quarter, which the home side just decided in their favor (23:22).
"A good quarter is not enough," grumbled Millwood, who missed the necessary intensity in defense and concentration on the offensive in the remaining sections of his team.
"Wolnzach actually made it easy for us with a man marking," analyzed Millwood.
His men, who have their strengths in direct duels and distance throws, made too little of it.
Basketball: Weilheim starts well, but then accuracy is lost
In the first few minutes things went pretty well, so that his team led to 7: 6 (5th). After that, the guests repeatedly brought their long centers into play, which were difficult to brake under the basket. The Weilheimers also lost their accuracy, which left them nine points behind after the first quarter (17:26). In the second run, not much changed in the course. Wolnzach dominated over long stretches and increased the lead to 19 points until the break.
The Weilheimers came out of the cabin with a lot more vigor.
Led by Julius Dillmann and Alex Thumser, who collectively collected 15 points in this quarter, the home side made this round balanced.
The backlog, however, only decreased marginally.
In the final quarter, the larger squad was noticeable among the guests, who had come with seven substitutes.
