Watched the "Squid Game" made you want to participate in a similar competition (minus all the killing and horror)?

Some have decided to take the concept that appears in the popular Netflix series and make it a reality.

Less fatal.

Yesterday (Tuesday) a multi-participant "squid game" event was held at the Korean Cultural Center, located in the United Arab Emirates, which contained a number of games appearing in the South Korean hit series.

Just like in the series, people competed in a variety of children's games, in order to win a particularly large cash prize.

Unlike in the series - those who did not succeed in the games did not die in a variety of horrible ways.

"To align with the global popularity of 'The Squid Game', the Korean Culture Center in the UAE has organized an event where you too can enjoy the game," read the event description message. "Do not miss an opportunity to win prizes!".

The competition included two sessions, in each of which 15 participants took part.

These had to face each other in customer competitions straight from the beloved series, including "Red Light, Green Light", The Candy Challenge, The Marbles Game and more.

The contestants wore T-shirts with the series' logo embossed on them, while the game's operating team modeled the pink, triangle and square circle symbols worn by the guards on the show.

The director of the place, Nam Kan Wu, said in an interview that the event was held in order to make accessible to the world the Korean culture and the childhood games that the locals played and still play today.

"Just as k-pop gained popularity through YouTube in the decade of 2010, I think platforms like Netflix will serve as channels for distributing Korean video content, like dramas and movies," he said.

"The games featured in the series are loved by children in Korea, and they evoke nostalgic childhood memories in Korean adults. I hope the global popularity of 'The Squid Game' will be an opportunity to spread what Korea has to offer - like the Hangul (Korean alphabet), taekwondo, k-drama and more."

In games held in reality, it should be noted again, no fatalities were recorded.
