The wave of violence is raging:
A 60-year-old bus driver was seriously injured in the head today (Thursday) during a brawl with boys in the Golan Heights, which broke out following a quarrel over parking.
The incident occurred in Bnei Yehuda.
According to the police investigation, the boys worked in the olive harvest.
The driver arrived and began to develop a quarrel over parking.
They saw him walking towards the bus and having a knife.
So they pushed him and he fell on his head.
The boys were detained at the police station.
Nira Tagar, an emergency medical paramedic, said: "We were at the MDA station when civilians called us out to provide medical treatment to a wounded man who was lying unconscious and with a severe head injury after an incident of violence. According to data from the National Organization of Drivers' Organization, which monitors the issue through a comprehensive annual report, in 2020 drivers experienced 3,644 cases of physical violence. In practice, the number is much higher as only 47% of cases were reported.
In addition, 40% of drivers reported experiencing physical violence at work during 2020 (19% of them reported 3 or more cases).
The Organization of Bus Drivers in Israel from the Histadrut said: "Only recognizing bus drivers as public employees can save their lives and the lives of passengers and cause drivers to sit behind bars.
