The automobile club ADAC expects traffic jams and obstructions on the motorways in Lower Saxony at the start of the autumn holidays this weekend.
While the holidays start in Lower Saxony and Bremen, they end in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.
"The rush on the highways will be correspondingly large," announced the ADAC on Thursday in Hanover.
Above all, the North and Baltic Sea coasts are currently in demand as vacation spots.
Hanover - Accordingly, disabilities are to be expected especially on the important north-south route A7 - between Hanover-South and Echte, where construction is said to be almost continuous.
It could get full around the metropolitan areas of Hanover, Hamburg and Bremen as well as at the construction sites on the main traffic routes.
These include the A1 near Osnabrück, Bramsche and the Stuhr triangle, as well as the A28 near Leer and the A 29 between Sande and Rastede.
The automobile club expects the first wave of travel from Friday afternoon.
There should also be a lot of traffic on Saturday and Sunday.
