Damascus countryside-SANA
With the support of the civil society in the city of Qara in the governorate of Damascus countryside, the local council has completed asphalting a number of streets in the city with a length of 3000 meters and a cost of 100 million Syrian pounds, and rehabilitating the southern entrance to the city.
The head of the local council, Dr. Ahmed Sarim, said in a statement to SANA’s delegate that the streets that were paved include Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, Mahdi bin Baraka, Uqba bin Nafea and al-Wadi, and during the next week another project will be implemented to complete the asphalting of the rest of the streets.
Sarim pointed out that the council implemented a project for maintenance and replacement of the sewage network in a number of neighborhoods in the continent, and the post office was equipped to be a one-stop shop, with the aim of enabling citizens to obtain the necessary documents and papers as soon as possible, such as the issuance of a registration and a family statement and others.
With regard to Qara Hospital, the Chairman of the Council confirmed that its rehabilitation has been completed, and soon it will begin to provide the hospital with the necessary equipment and secure medical personnel to enter the service directly, pointing out that the hospital includes all specialties of clinics, ambulance, laboratory, radiology, obstetrics, intensive care and others.
