Scandals of Western intelligence services and their manipulation of the media continue to create misleading media coverage about the terrorist war in Syria.
The report, published by the Gray Zone website, which specializes in investigative journalism, between the close relationship between American and Western intelligence agencies and the “Bellingcat” website, which claims independence and impartiality from political quarrels, but is in fact a fake front to support terrorist organizations in Syria, such as the terrorist “Al-Qaeda” organization.
The report indicated that the site receives huge funds from Washington and the European Union to achieve their colonial goals, and there are official financial accounts confirming that the site has received large sums of money from contractors with Western intelligence, who in turn provide direct support to terrorist organizations in Syria.
The report pointed out that these intelligence contractors are the same ones who provided the “Bellingcat” website with fabricated evidence accusing the Syrian Arab Army of carrying out alleged chemical attacks, stressing that the disclosure of the site’s financiers and their links with Western intelligence is just another evidence that the founder of “Bellingcat” called Elliot Higgins is receiving suspicious information from Terrorist organizations and extremists inside Syria, and that its media campaigns are conducted in coordination with these terrorists.
The report referred to the questions raised by Higgins’ campaigns on Twitter to promote the terrorist organization “ISIS” and its relationship with these terrorists, and its reliance on them as a source of its misleading information and reports on Syria.
According to the report, journalist and academic Alan MacLeod detailed Bellingcat's deep and close ties to Western intelligence services and the website's supposed use of so-called "open sources" to an astonishing number of ex-military and Western intelligence agents to bolster misleading imperialist narratives.
The report indicated that the Bellingcat website received huge funding from Western companies and organizations that receive their funding from Western governments and act as effective fronts for these governments and support the website’s activities on behalf of their funders, indicating that the website received between 2019 and 2020 more than 5,000 euros from Chemonics. Headquartered in Washington, which conducts intelligence operations funded by the US administration with the aim of destabilizing all over the world.
The site also received huge funding from Adam Smith International, which was proven to have been working to finance and support terrorists in Syria with millions of pounds.
Over the years of the terrorist war against Syria, the media hysteria continued about what is happening in it, so that the war of false information and the malicious propaganda campaigns funded by various Western and regional powers became one of the most prominent aspects of the dirty war targeting Syria because that war played in promoting terrorist organizations and inventing a political and human cover for them.
Western and regional media have formed the main pillar in the terrorist war on Syria since 2011 and have worked to distort the facts and brainwash the observer, and this was revealed by leaked documents published by the American Gray Zone website earlier, confirming that companies have contracted with Western powers and countries and have worked for many years to Forming, preparing and preparing terrorist organizations under the name of “the opposition,” and at every stage it was responsible for marketing it and creating a false image of it in the eyes of the Western observer, in addition to inventing slogans, fabricating stories and images, and preparing for interviews in foreign media.
