Owner Manfred Rietzler describes the establishment of a board of trustees for the festival theater “Neuschwanstein” as an important step “towards the long-term establishment of the theater”.

Members are ten personalities from business, society, politics and culture, who will support the theater in an honorary capacity in the future. In addition to the former Bavarian Minister Dr. Thomas Goppel (CSU) are the District Assembly President Martin Sailer, District Administrator Maria Rita Zinnecker (CSU), Füssen's Mayor Maximilian Eichstetter (CSU), the Ostallgäu State Parliament member Angelika Schorer (CSU), District Councilor Uschi Lax (CSU), Detlef Meierjohann, former Managing Director of the State Opera Hamburg, Jürgen Schwarz, Managing Director Bayerischer Musikrat Projekt GmbH, Füssens Tourism Director Stefan Fredlmeier and Dr. Hermann Starnecker, board spokesman of the VR-Bank.

“Every member of the board of trustees is an ambassador for our company, as well as a sponsor through its extensive network.

We are sending a signal of solidarity, so that the Neuschwanstein Festival Hall is perceived even more strongly as a unique place of art and culture, ”explained managing director Birgit Karle.

Great plans

Theater director Benjamin Sahler was delighted to be able to look back on five years of theater operations with self-produced musicals on the shores of Lake Forggensee.

“No one in this house has ever achieved such a continuity!” Says theater director Benjamin Sahler.

Even through the Corona crisis, the house was controlled - also thanks to the support of the Free State of Bavaria.

The previous occupancy of the summer season is a cause for joy, added Manfred Rietzler.

"You can feel how longingly the audience has been waiting for the new start after Corona".

Together with the great wealth of knowledge of the Board of Trustees, Sahler now hopes "that the Füssen Festival Hall will gain even greater recognition as a shining temple of culture and will therefore still be a center of attraction for art and culture lovers in 20 years".
