A novelty in Langenpreising: For the first time, the show dance groups of SV Staustorf are putting on a full-length dance theater - and are celebrating a complete success.

Langenpreising

- No carnival, no show dance meetings, no celebrations: The restrictions caused by the corona pandemic have also felt the young dancers of the show dance groups at SV Zusatzorf. But the need made the coaching team around Julia Reiter inventive. The result was a project that was bigger than anything else that the active participants had set up in their 15 years of existence. 60 children and young people brought "Peter Pan" to the stage as a dance theater in a large collective performance.

Already in the first lockdown, in April 2020, Reiter and the other trainers Liesa Pfort, Sandra Gumberger, Selina Santos, Daniela Hellinger, Eva Senftl, Annabell Kahr and Alicia Badura made the decision to use the time and dare to do something new. The hard-working troupe wrote a dance theater piece based on the story of Peter Pan, procured props, painted and tinkered with the sets. In constantly new training modes - sometimes via online conference, then in the hall and then outside again on the football field - they coordinated the total of 60 children. “We kept coming up with new challenges to motivate the girls,” says Reiter.

The result is a huge success.

The children and young people danced twice in front of a sold-out hall in the Langenpreising gymnasium.

The total of 250 spectators - only the families were invited - were enthusiastic.

Children between the ages of 3 and 16 took part, all of whom presented an enormous performance and offered admirable dance and gymnastics performances.

Well-rehearsed choreographies as well as obvious fun in dance and gymnastics drove the visitors to a storm of applause.

The joy of the joint performance allowed the individual groups of the association to grow closer together, says Reiter.

"Everyone was allowed to take part, the small ones were just as important as the big ones."

With Peter Pan, an inspiring piece was presented and interpreted with great attention to detail.

The title character Peter Pan, the pirates, the "shadow" and all other figures offered an imaginative picture.

The children could rightly be proud of their performance.

All dancers were named at the end and could receive their personal applause.

And now?

Some of those involved hope that the next big dance theater will soon be around the corner.

Reiter has to put it off first.

“It was a lot more work than expected,” says Reiter.

“The expenditure of time was enormous.

We trainers worked a lot of night shifts and hardly had any free time. ”The piece may be repeated again and presented to the public.

But there is still nothing to be said, says Reiter.
