Corona prevented companies from celebrating Christmas last year.
The hospitality industry is confident that this will not happen again in the run-up to Christmas.
However, there are still uncertainties.
Bad Kreuznach / Mainz - After the corona-related lockdown in the previous Advent season, the hospitality industry in Rhineland-Palatinate is hoping for income from Christmas parties again this year.
"The good thing about Christmas celebrations is that the group of people has been determined," said the President of the Dehoga Hotel and Restaurant Association in Rhineland-Palatinate, Gereon Haumann, of the German Press Agency.
"That's why I think presence will definitely be feasible."

Dehoga: New Corona rules give hospitality back freedom
After many difficult months due to the Corona restrictions, the operators of restaurants, cafés and pubs in Rhineland-Palatinate can breathe a sigh of relief again, according to industry information.
The main reasons for this are the elimination of many requirements for the catering industry, the prospect of permanent opening and the regained flexibility for the individual companies, such as the President of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) in Rhineland-Palatinate, Gereon Haumann, the German press Agency said.

Dehoga: mixed feelings about the 2G rule among restaurateurs
From the middle of next week on, businesses in the catering, culture and sports sectors will be able to choose whether they will only allow access to vaccinated and convalescent people.
With the 2G model, mask requirements and distance rules are to be dispensed with.
But there is still uncertainty.

The catering trade will be able to host relatively normal Christmas parties again this year and the industry is already looking forward to that, said Haumann.
"For our companies it is a very important turnover that they urgently need." These events are also important for the companies, Christmas parties are simply "part of the work atmosphere".
Planning uncertainty still remains. A spokeswoman for the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry said the majority of companies had not yet decided whether and how they would celebrate with their employees in the run-up to Christmas. Many companies are reluctant to deal with the issue, they are internal decisions that are also significantly influenced by the applicable hygiene rules and vaccination rates.
As a spokesman for the State Association of Entrepreneurs' Associations Rhineland-Palatinate (LVU) said, the member companies would mostly try to organize their celebrations in presence and not digitally.
Whether this succeeds, however, depends on the vaccination status of the employees and to what extent the employers are even informed about it.
Celebrating according to the so-called 2G rule, in which only vaccinated or convalescent people can attend, would possibly exclude employees.
