Dennis Ross, a former Obama administration adviser on the Iran issue and one of the top Democratic analysts, has sharply criticized the US's hesitation toward Iran and called for actually threatening to eliminate the entire nuclear program.
"Iran believes it has no risk of enriching uranium to 60 percent - that it has no justification when it comes to a civilian nuclear program. That must change," he wrote on Twitter.
"Iran must understand that it is jeopardizing its entire nuclear program if it continues in that direction."

Meanwhile, Iran is trying to drop the full blame for tensions in the region on Israel.
The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations, Majid Tahturwanchi, submitted a letter to the chairman of the Security Council warning of Israeli attacks against his country, claiming that Israel was planning "adventures that would destabilize the region."
"Over the past month, the number and intensity of provocations perpetrated by the Israeli regime, along with its adventurous threats, have climbed to alarming levels," Tahturvanchi told the Security Council president.
The Iranian ambassador presented to the UN as an example the remarks of Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, according to which Israel has increased its damage to the nuclear program and will act to erode Iran's capabilities in a variety of areas.

Ambassador Underwangchi claimed that this was in fact proof of "terrorist attacks" carried out by Israel last month against the Iranian nuclear program.
"Such blatant and overt threats are a blatant violation of international law. The threats to erode Iran's capabilities are proof beyond any shadow of a doubt that Israel is responsible for attacks against our peace - seeking nuclear program.
"Given Israel's history of undermining regional stability, such as covert operations against the Iranian nuclear program, immediate action must be taken against the threats and adventures of this regime," the Iranian ambassador to the UN concluded.
