The dramatic search for Julia from Berlin moves people two days after they were rescued.

Now the girl has spoken for the first time about her time in the forest.

Waldmünchen - It is probably the most dramatic search for missing persons in Germany in a long time.

On Sunday afternoon, October 10th, eight-year-old Julia from Berlin was lost on the border with the Czech Republic in Bavaria.

Her parents had lost sight of her on Mount Chercov, and a Czech forester was able to find her 45 hours later.

The child was completely hypothermic and weakened, but otherwise uninjured.

Since the "miracle" that many emergency services talk about, more and more details of Julia's nightmare in the forest have crystallized.

Now, for the first time, the girl has spoken about time herself.

The girl from Berlin had probably covered several kilometers in the surrounding area.

According to the police, she had tried in vain to find the trail on which she had last seen her parents.

During the night, Julia is said to have heard several animals, including deer, wild boars and foxes.

She is said to have gone to sleep in the tall grass.

For the entire 45 hours, the girl did not eat or drink.

The 8-year-old girl told the police how she experienced the time.

Drama about Julia from Berlin: Girls spent night on high seat - and reports of anxious moments

Accordingly, she spent one of the two nights on a high seat on which the eight-year-old could sleep more or less sheltered from the wind.

The student was found only about 100 meters from the high seat.

As Julia further reported to the officials, she was very scared during the nights.

However, she did not yell for help for fear of putting herself in danger.

The family said they were "overjoyed".

She thanked "all the helpers." On Wednesday afternoon Julia left the hospital with her parents.

After Julia was rescued: Recognition for emergency services required

After the rescue, the Upper Palatinate MP Tobias Gotthardt (Free Voters) calls for recognition for the around 1400 emergency services.

"It would be an appropriate, also European symbol to honor the rescuers with a cross-border state reception or other appropriate awards," said Gotthardt, according to a statement on Thursday.

“It is also a signal of thanks to those who have built up the cross-border structure that makes such missions for life possible today.”
