The 57-year-old driver of the bus was injured in the accident of a minibus mainly occupied by school children on Thursday on federal highway 184 in Jerichower Land.
Five children and one adult companion got away with the horror, the police said.
The initial information stated that the driver was seriously injured and the other occupants were slightly injured.
Biederitz - The minibus had strayed from the roadway in the Königsborn district of the municipality of Biederitz for an unexplained cause and landed in the ditch, the police said.
Immediately after the accident, several rescue vehicles and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
The B 184 was completely closed.
