Four years ago, the 14 stations were opened in the city forest between Adalbert-Stifter-Straße and the B11 and between Staatsstraße 2369 and Ahornweg.

In the first year everything went well
"It is a pure disaster," says the executive officer in the town hall, Ute Raach, when asked.
For our newspaper, she counted how often the sports equipment had to be replaced: after it opened, everything went well for about a year until the bag broke.
“In July 2018 we had to buy a new one,” Raach looks back.
This lasted a good year and a half.
In March 2020, he was then mistreated with a knife.
Again a new one had to be found.
"Three months later it was damaged again, and the replacement cost 300 euros again," sighs Raach.
The game repeated itself this June and July.
Again the city bought a punching bag.
"This time we decided on a cheap version." That only lasted a few weeks.
We are actually a little at a loss.

The city removed the sad remains, and a little while later, according to Raach, another sack was hanging there.
However, this was not installed by the city.
“That was totally strange,” says the executive officer.
"Obviously a private person hung it up." But this piece of sports equipment was only granted for a short life.
The following weekend he was slashed.
Since then there has been a yawning emptiness at the station.

How does it go from here?
"We are thinking about how we can protect the course, but still keep it attractive for the population," announced Raach.
The installation of a camera to monitor the station is not an option for data protection reasons.
“We are actually a bit at a loss.” When the devices were installed four years ago, they were aware that the station with the punching bag would be vulnerable.
But it was hoped that the sports equipment would be handled with care.
Raach: "The exercise course is so well received, we don't want to let it go to waste." In the town hall, people are open and grateful for ideas on how to better protect the sore point of the fitness trail.
