Wiesbaden - The number of those under the age of three in childcare facilities fell from 58,500 to 56,600.

According to the State Statistical Office, the childcare quota relates to the proportion of children in care among all children in the under three-year-old age group.

There are large regional differences in Hesse when it comes to the childcare rates.

In Rüsselsheim am Main, for example, the rate was only 14.5 percent, while in Marburg 43.7 percent of those under the age of three were cared for in daycare centers or with childcare providers at the beginning of March 2021.
