He brutally attacked the priest of the parish who hosts him in the rectory - after being reproached for the loud music he was listening to - kicking him, punching him and hitting him with a knife, with which he also deeply scarred his face.
The attacker, a 57-year-old, was arrested by the carabinieri on charges of attempted murder, very serious injuries and permanent scarring of the face, one of the new criminal figures introduced by the 'Red Code' legislation.
The victim is Don Mario, the parish priest of Santa Maria Annunziata di Fidenza (Parma), hospitalized in serious condition.
The 57-year-old, of Milanese origin, is one of the guests who found a welcome in the rectory of the Fidentine parish. Last night around 11 pm the parish priest asked him to turn down the volume of the music, which was too loud at that time, and the man threw himself against him, kicking and punching him. Don Mario then tried to take shelter in a room and immediately called the carabinieri. Meanwhile, the 57-year-old had managed to break down the door and again raged against the priest, this time armed with a knife with a blade of 20 centimeters. The parish priest protected himself with his hands, causing several wounds but in the end he was hit by a blow to the face that caused him a very deep wound. The priest managed to take refuge in the bathroom just as the carabinieri arrived and immobilized the attacker,then arrested. The 57-year-old is in prison in Parma. The priest in the hospital.
