Bus and train travel without having to buy a ticket beforehand and without having to look for the right tariff beforehand - that is the promise of a new offer that the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV) plans to launch in spring 2022.
The offer will then be available under the name “HVV any” in the “HVV switch” app, as the HVV announced on Thursday during the ITS mobility congress.
Hamburg - The offer is intended to facilitate access to local public transport, especially for occasional drivers.
The project is being developed and implemented by the municipal Hamburger Hochbahn AG, which operates the subway and a large part of the bus network in the Hanseatic city.
The principle is simple: when you start, customers check in using the app.
Changes and check-out are automatic.
At the end of the day, the cheapest ticket is calculated from the combination of all journeys.
It is no longer necessary to have ticket types and tariff zones in mind.
Transport Senator Anjes Tjarks (Greens) spoke of an "absolute milestone" for local public transport in Hamburg.
"It couldn't be easier, better and, in the truest sense of the word, cheaper."
