The Israel Police announced tonight (Thursday) that they have begun investigating the cyber hack that occurred yesterday at Hillel Yaffe Hospital yesterday.
Police added that the investigation is being conducted in international cooperation with law enforcement agencies in foreign countries.
As you may recall, yesterday morning it was learned that the computer systems at the hospital in Hadera were hacked by hackers, who demanded ransom in exchange for stopping the cyber attack.
It should be noted that the attack on the hospital continues during these hours as well.
The Ministry of Health and the National Cyber System have been updated on the details of the incident and are participating in its investigation and treatment.
"The Ministry of Health distributed an update on the subject to the hospitals as a preventive measure," and the hospital asked the Ministry of Health and MDA to refer only emergencies to it.
The hospital clarified that since the beginning of the incident, the medical capabilities have not been impaired, the medical equipment is active and functional and there was no danger to the patients.
An appropriate response is given to all patients and those who come to the hospital gates.
Explained: "Along with the efforts of cyber and computing experts to rehabilitate the computer systems and investigate the incident, the medical work continues and our staffs provide an optimal response in the face of existing challenges. The staffs' adaptation to work in the current format was immediate and inspiring."
The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, commented on the incident in a letter to the hospitals in the country and warned of further attacks against medical organizations: "I will ask for your maximum vigilance.
You are asked to make sure that there is a backup of information that can be used for the continuity of medical care, should such an event occur in your organization. "He also called on hospitals to print" critical medical material "if necessary.
