Thimphu - On the occasion of their tenth wedding anniversary, King Jigme Khesar (41) and Queen Jetsun Pema (31) of Bhutan published two pictures from the Lingkana Palace, the residence of the royal family in Bhutan's capital Thimphu.
The photos do not show an arranged couple that is particularly artfully staged for a worthy occasion, but rather they show, in a heartwarming simplicity, the bond and closeness between two people who have found each other. *

Actually, new photos were not necessarily to be expected, because the Royals had only published a new family photo at the beginning of the month.
But apparently the popular couple wanted to share their happiness with everyone and that's why they followed up with the wonderful pictures of their majesties.

The couple married on October 13, 2011 in Punakha Dzong at a traditional Buddhist ceremony.
The Buddhist monastery castle in the Punakha district, also known as Pungtang-Dechen-Photrang-Dzong, which translates as "Extremely awesome Dzong Palace of Bliss", serves as the administrative center of this area.
Shortly before their wedding, they had received the blessing of the holy relic from Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

In Bhutan the party went on for days.
The Bhutanese government declared October 13-15 a national holiday.
Ten years ago on October 14th, King Jigme and his Queen Jetsun * welcomed the people of Thimphu.
The following day, they mingled with the crowd at a public ceremony at Changlimithang Stadium.

After the ceremony, King Jigme * addressed his new queen with moving words, saying: “I have been waiting to get married for some time.
But it doesn't matter when you get married as long as it's the right person.
I am sure that I am married to the right person. "

In the meantime, the couple, Crown Prince Jigme Namgyel (5) and Prince Ugyen Wangchuck (18 months), have two sweet children together and are doing their best to continue the legacy of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck (65), the king's resigned father.

Only recently, the royal couple had impressively demonstrated why Bhutan has blossomed into a showpiece in South Asia.
