Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving said Wednesday that he is not vaccinated against COVID-19.
His remarks appear a day after his team announced that the seven-time NBA All-Star pick will not start playing this season due to his vaccination status.
Irving has so far refused to reveal whether he had received the doses.
The NBA had warned the Nets, as well as the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors, that new covid-19 policies set by local governments will prohibit any uninoculated player from competing in the cities of New York and San Francisco.
