The volunteer team at the Tegernbach outdoor pool drew a positive balance of the 2021 season.

- The outdoor pool in Tegernbach has been in urgent need of renovation for a long time.
The technology is out of date, the pools are dilapidated.
Nevertheless, they managed to put it into operation again and again: with a lot of personal effort and the help of a volunteer team.
The résumé for the 2021 bathing season is now quite impressive, regardless of public operations.
684 primary school children from Au, Attenkirchen, Langenbach, Rudelzhausen and Wolfersdorf took part in swimming lessons in Tegernbach this year.
As Rosi Hofbauer from the volunteer team announced, 70 of them have
completed a seahorse course in the outdoor pool.
Many of them were able to proudly receive the badge in the end.

According to Hofbauer, who is responsible for the organization in the outdoor pool, there is already a long list of swimming course children for the coming season.
Whether that can take place, however, is still in the stars.
Because the renovation of the outdoor swimming pool creates problems.
The project is controversial because it was not clear until recently whether you wanted a 2.15 million expensive solution, or whether it would also do a slimmed-down version for up to 600,000 euros less.
In the opinion of its supporters in the local council, the latter would have the advantage that the bathroom would not be a construction site for the entire 2022 season.
A decision about this was pending until the end.
Swimming department founded at SC Tegernbach
In the meantime, independently of this, an important milestone for the future of the outdoor pool has been set with the establishment of a swimming department at SC Tegernbach (STC). For example, a crawl course for adults has been set up. The response was very great and all participants were very enthusiastic. One thing is certain: crawling courses for children and adults could be offered again for the next season. Not the only reason why you absolutely want to let the 2022 season take place. The outdoor pool was also used for the triathlon for the SCT footballers. Mother-child gymnastics and children's gymnastics also took place more often in the outdoor pool. A water slide was specially built for this purpose. Another children's swimming course was held during the school holidays. Here, too, the demand was strong.
In addition, further children's swimming courses are planned for the coming season, as there are now four swimming instructors from the SCT.
The plan also includes water games, a swimming festival and a 24-hour swim.
24 lifeguards
According to Hofbauer, the bathing season was accident-free.
Also thanks to 24 volunteer lifeguards who had completed their own training.
"The lifeguards have invested a lot of free time in first aid, theory and practical training and have volunteered at the pool edge throughout the season so that nothing happens," explained Hofbauer.
“Thanks to the training and the many tips on prevention, it was always possible to react immediately and thus avoid swimming accidents.” She now sincerely hopes that the 2022 bathing season can still be saved.
