A woman and three men are on trial in Neubrandenburg for allegedly torturing a neighbor.

Signs were carved into him that he should die in a bunker.

Now there is attempted murder in the room.

Neubrandenburg - At the district court of Neubrandenburg, a trial of a supposedly brutal act of vigilante justice has begun.

The four defendants are said to have severely mistreated, humiliated, tortured and dragged a neighbor in Lärz near Rechlin (Mecklenburg Lake District) to a remote military bunker, where he was supposed to die, as the public prosecutor's representative before the jury chamber said.

The public prosecutor's office accuses the 26-year-old main defendant and the 23, 23 and 47-year-old men of attempted murder and deprivation of liberty.

The defendants did not want to comment on the start of the trial.

Prosecutor: man stabbed man out of jealousy

The pensioner arrested after the knife attack on a 65-year-old in Nordhausen admitted the act when he was questioned by the police.

The 70-year-old probably stabbed his rival out of jealousy because he is supposed to have a relationship with his wife, said the spokesman for the Mühlhausen public prosecutor's office, Dirk Germerodt, of the German press agency, on Monday.

Defendant is silent on allegations in murder trial

A defendant is silent on the allegations in a new murder trial in Koblenz.

According to his defense lawyer, the 23-year-old commented on his résumé, but not on the matter, said a spokeswoman for the regional court at the start of the trial on Thursday.

The charge is murder.

The man was sentenced to 11 years in prison for manslaughter here in May 2020.

The bloody incident occurred in Lärz at the end of February. After a joint barbecue party, the 26-year-old main defendant alleged that the neighbor had sexually abused her two and six-year-old children. The later injured party had previously brought the six-year-old boy from the barbecue in the garden by the apartment building up to the woman's apartment. While staying in the apartment, nude photos are said to have been taken on a cell phone, although it remained unclear who took them.

The defendants then broke into the man's apartment, beat him, locked him in a bathtub and cut off his hair with a cutter knife.

He was also said to have been scratched with tattoos and to drink urine.

Compared to an acquaintance, the 26-year-old boasted that she was now "getting satisfaction." When the acquaintance wanted to call the police, she was threatened.

The quartet is said to have pulled a sack over the victim's head and brought him to a military bunker 13 kilometers away.

There, the 39-year-old was further mistreated and seriously injured, was pushed into a shaft.

"The man should die there so that the crime remains undercover," said the prosecutor.

Despite the injuries, the victim was able to free himself from the bunker shaft the next day.

The man came several kilometers and rang the doorbell at a house, the residents of which alerted the rescue workers in view of his severe hypothermia and bloody wounds all over their body.

The police found the quartet.

The trial had started with a charge of dangerous bodily harm in a local court.

After several witnesses were heard there, the charge changed to attempted murder and the district court referred the proceedings to the regional court.

Twelve more days of negotiations are planned for the process.

A judgment is to be made in February 2022.

The proceedings will continue on November 2nd.
