"Venezuela will take Iván Duque before the International Criminal Court for the crime of extermination, a persecution contemplated in article 7.1.H of the Rome Statute for the persecution of our migrants," Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said on Venezuelan state television, accusing the president of Colombia of "xenophobia, persecution and extermination against Venezuelan migrants."
Marta Lucía Ramírez, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice President of Colombia, responded that the Colombian government "rejects and denies" the allegation of an alleged policy of aggression against Venezuelan migrants and that it is an attempt to divert attention from what is happening in Venezuela, such as the death of Raúl Baduel, with the Nicolás Maduro regime.
