In Fürth there is new trouble because of pigeon droppings.

There the birds frolic uncontrollably in a house on Pickertstrasse.

Fürth - On the Fürth * Königswarterstraße, residents complain of an extreme pigeon plague.

The fault is an almost empty house on the neighboring Pickertstrasse, reports

nordbayern.de.

There pigeons fly in and out, pollute the rooms and multiply uncontrollably.

Several residents of Königswarterstrasse appealed to the city about this.

Fürth: Corrosive pigeon droppings attack the building fabric

Jürgen Tölk from the Office for Environment, Order and Consumer Protection confirmed that there was a "certain infestation of pigeons" on site.

In order to be able to act, one has to examine the house on Pickertstrasse.

After all, the corrosive pigeon droppings also damage the structure of the Art Nouveau house.

Its owner, who does not live in Fürth, is currently unavailable.

It is his job to take measures to keep the pigeons away.

In the underpass of Schwabacher Strasse, however, a solution is emerging in the matter of pigeon plague.

There, sidewalks and bridge piers full of pigeon droppings had caused complaints.

Deutsche Bahn, which owns the bridge, is working with the city administration to curb the pollution.

Fürth: 17,000 euros for cleaning the underpass

In the summer, the city of Fürth initiated a general cleaning by specialists.

Removing the centimeter-thick layer of manure cost around 17,000 euros.

In addition, Deutsche Bahn agreed to replace and supplement existing networks and spikes in spring 2022.

Animal rights activists had suggested setting up a dovecote in which the birds could settle.

That is basically possible, says Jürgen Tölk.

However, an organization would have to be found that could support such a project on a permanent basis on a voluntary basis.
