Now it's getting serious: The new parking ticket machines in Kochel am See will be in operation from October 15th.
Monitoring is now also starting.
22 of 42 parking spaces in the municipality are now subject to a fee.
Kochel am See / Walchensee
- In the municipality of Kochel and Walchensee, the 26 new parking ticket machines have been installed in the past few days.
This is announced by the town hall.
The machines were actually supposed to be set up in the summer, but various problems arose at the companies involved.
"Unfortunately, not only the mirco chips, which are afflicted with delivery bottlenecks worldwide, but also the SIM cards and other technical equipment have been a long time coming," says Dirk Grusdas, head of the Kochler building management.
The machines should actually be up and running in summer
From Friday, October 15th, the machines will be functional and monitored.
"Of course it is annoying that we can only start now and have missed the entire summer," says Mayor Thomas Holz.
But maybe it is "a certain advantage to start implementation in the quieter autumn time".
Holz assumes that “it may be necessary to readjust again at one point or another”.
The first 30 minutes are free
As reported, the municipality has drawn up a parking space concept, on the basis of which 42 parking spaces are managed throughout the municipality.
22 of them are chargeable.
You can park free of charge in all parking lots for the first 30 minutes.
The chargeable time starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
Every hour or part thereof costs one, a day ticket six euros.
With the latter, the daily spa fee of two euros must be paid at the same time.
Charges are also intended to ensure that more tourists travel by bus and train
The introduction of chargeable parking spaces is one of the measures from the Walchensee concept.
"We are also responding to the steady increase in day-trippers because we are assuming a certain steering function," says Holz.
By making traveling by car more expensive, the aim is to encourage those seeking relaxation to switch to the train and bus.
Here, too, “great efforts are made to make the offer even more attractive”.
