The Peitinger board game days were a complete success until the corona pandemic caused an involuntary forced break.

It's finally over.

On October 30th and 31st, the Peitinger Youth Center and the team from the Schweinsgalopp Circus invite you to a new edition in the Schloßberghalle.

Peiting

- Anyone who thought that board and card games hadn't been able to lure anyone out from behind the stovepipe since the invention of game consoles, tablets and smartphones, the premiere of the Peitinger Brettspieltage 2018 taught them better. At the invitation of the local youth center, over 500 participants flocked to the Schloßberghalle to enthusiastically try their hand at the games on offer. The second edition turned out to be just as successful a year later, which - of course, no one could have guessed at the time - was to remain the last for the time being. Due to the corona pandemic, the board game days 2020 had to be canceled at short notice. Also this spring, because of the third wave, there was no thought of it, says youth center manager Jürgen Schaffarczik.

"The infection situation allows that we can now dare"

So now a next attempt: On October 30th and 31st it should finally work with the third board game days.

"The infection situation means that we can now dare to do this," says Schaffarczik happily.

Due to the hygiene regulations, the current usual requirements apply to the event.

According to the 3G rule, only those who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested have access.

Children under six years of age do not need any proof, for schoolchildren a student ID is sufficient.

Checks are made at the entrance, where the entrance fee of three euros (children from three to six years old pay one euro) must be paid.

The wearing of a mask is mandatory in the hall, but according to Schaffarczik it can be removed at the square.

If you made it into it, you can expect a wide range of board and card games of all kinds. There are a proud 500 in number, significantly more than two years ago when 300 games invited to try out.

On the one hand, they come from the now proud fund of the youth center, and on the other hand, they come from game manufacturers who make their products available free of charge.

And if you have found your new favorite game, you can purchase it on site - the sales booth of a game dealer makes it possible.

20 volunteers are on hand to provide visitors with advice and assistance

On both days, as on the last edition, a team of 20 volunteers will be on hand to provide visitors with advice and assistance. Even if, given the large number, it was not possible to try out all the games in advance, says the youth center manager.

With the board game days, which are the first major event in Peiting in a long time, Schaffarczik also wants to stir the drum on his own behalf. After all, the Juze was closed for a long time due to the corona pandemic, and operations have only started again - rather slowly - since the end of June. Of course, they don't just want to address the young people of Peitingen. “It's an event for the whole family,” emphasizes the Juze manager, who, like his team, is curious to see whether the third edition will be as popular as its two predecessors. In the end, however, it is not so important how many visitors come, emphasizes Schaffarczik: "It is important that we offer something again after a long time."

The Peitinger Board Game Days

take place on Saturday, October 30th, from 2pm to 9pm and on Sunday, October 31st, from 2pm to 8pm in the Schloßberghalle.
